Opening of Ryszard Orski Gallery in Zakopane - 2002
In 2002, Orski realized his dream of building a gallery in Zakopane devoted exclusively to his own sculpture. The Ryszard Orski Gallery has become one of the attractions of Zakopane.

Exhibit at the Pałac Sztuki in Kraków - 1998

Exhibition in Stara Kordegarda - Royal Łazienki in Warsaw - May 1990.
Indian and highlander in one person
The "Beginning of Life" and "Mixing the Senses", two sculptures by Ryszard Orski - the first one from 1972 and the second one from 1987 - are clipping fifteen works by this artist currently exhibited in the TPSP "Stara Kordegarda" salon in the Royal Łazienki Park. Each year out of these fifteen years there is one sculpture - a coincidence or a blind intention? One can see the consequence in this patient, slow chiselling, measured for years, of the image of human everyday matters: love, indifference, betrayal, desire. One can also notice the formal consistency, the subordination to order and plan, in individual compositions in a tree, in their clearly emphasized symbolic details: lips, eyes, a snake, a hat; in a harmonious range of colours, finally, with the domination of browns, reds, oranges, black and violets.
One can even see a certain consistency in a white and red poster by Władysław Pluta with a double image of a sculptor, once in a highlander's hat, once with an Indian eagle feather. It is a bit of a joke - but also a symbol of two eagles' cultures, which intertwine in the work of this artist, combining the Polish woodcarving tradition with elements of pre-Columbian art and an extremely contemporary sense of form.

Article by Lucyna Migala in the Chicago Tribune - "Wood Art Rooted In 2 Cultures" - 12.08.1986 r.
The works by Polish-American artist Ryszard Orski are difficult to categorize.
Part painting, part sculpture, they perhaps are best called sculpted paintings, but whatever one calls them, they are unusual enough to have won the artist a place in the 42d Venice Biennale. Six of Orski`s pieces are on display through Sept. 28 as part of a group show in the Polish pavilion. (...) read more
